Google I/O is months away this year is at the Shoreline Amphitheater - the same venue as last year - in Mountain View, on May 17-19. In 2016. Google uses Google I/O to announce the new update to its Android OS.The final version of Android N was released in August 2016 as Android Nougat, and we're looking at a similar time frame in 2017 for the release of Android O, which means Android O Developer Preview will be announced at Google I/O on 17 May. But what will Android O be called?
What will the next Android be called?
Google has always named its Android OS updates after sweet treats, and in alphabetical order. So far we've had Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow and Nougat. Same like before Google will be looking for a sweet treat beginning with O.
Google has always announced the new Android OS and new hardware together. But before it Google has released Android O Developer Preview for developers and the final release prior to any new hardware at the end of August. Also there leaks coming before which device promised to supports the Android O like moto g4 plus on web site shows us device is upgraded to both Android N and Android O.
I would put money on that its gonna be Oreo I will be very surprised if its not.
